Busy Adoption Center Weekend
7/10/2010
GAC brought in 13 new dogs today to our adoption center.
Helping to make room for the new dogs are this weekend's adoptions:
Whalley went to live with GAC's Landmark, now Angus, north of Los Angeles. Whalley turned two years old in March -- quite the energetic youngster. He came in on April 16th from Phoenix.
Stella, a four-year-old brindle girl who originally came in on January 2nd as part of our New Year's Champagne group, also went north to live with GAC's Johnny (now Zabel). Stella recently returned to GAC and now went to her forever home.
Rossi is planned to go home tomorrow. He arrived from Caliente on May 1st. This brindle boy turns 3 next month. He joins GAC's Sheila (now Jasmine), a former Guam dog, in Orange County.
Last weekend, Evergreen, from our December 26th Christmas group, traveled north to her new home with veteran GAC adopters, in time for a 4th of July celebration!
Now for the arrivals from Arizona...
Named for London tube and train stations, they are 7 girls and 6 boys. First, five siblings, born 4/30/2009, making them just a little more than 14 months:
Crewe and Camden, brindle girls
Kensal, red and white girl
Kenton, fawn girl
Kingston, white and brindle boy
Euston, a black and white boy born a day later than the siblings
Two brindle Mama Dogs: Brixton, who turns 7 in October, and Hadley, who turns 8 at the end of August
Piccadilly, a blue 5+ year old girl
Paddington, a fawn boy who turns 2 yrs old at the end of November
Hendon, a black boy just 18 months old
Bexley, a black boy who turns 2 yrs old in a few weeks
Wembley, a fawn boy who never raced because of a hip problem, just one year old this month!
Wow. Aside from the three older girls, we have 10 very young greyhounds!
Thanks so much to everyone who is helping at the kennel today -- getting up very early -- and for everyone who will be helping to acclimate all the new dogs!
