Two Boys Go Home

7/19/2010

Dom was adopted yesterday, and Hockey went to his home today.

Hockey, a big black greyhound, arrived from Caliente on February 27th. He tested positive for heartworm and was treated successfully! Hockey also has been serving as one of our "sponsor" dogs. He went to live in San Diego.

Dom, a five-year-old brindle boy, came in from Caliente on January 2nd. He was named as part of our "champagne" group. He went to live in Santa Monica. Here's an update already from his new "mom":

Just wanted to let you know how DOM is doing! After an excellent drive back to Santa Monica CA (he is a good car passenger) and seeing squirrels at the car rest stop near San Onofre (he didn't take my arm off....), he arrived to 80 degrees near the beach. He was so happy in the backyard that we invited our neighbors over for BBQ chicken and corn. Our best friends brought their mastiff/lab mix Rufus. To our joy, Rufus and Dom played happily and shared Dom's new squeeky soccer ball. Rufus was so excited to have a new friend he ran laps around our yard (and he never moves faster than a slow stroll). Since Dom has the colors of Halloween, he has now been renamed JACK (as in Jack O'Lantern). An exhausted Jack slept next to me all last night and woke up once to give me a quick kiss. What a sweet big boy. Thank you for raising such a happy sweet guy!
